Implementing PMI best practices to lead several workstreams toward business excellence

Opportunity

An international market-leading manufacturer needed experienced program managers to lead several workstreams within its 3-year long business excellence and continuous improvement programs. All workstreams involved stakeholders across multiple divisions and departments and were designed to significantly increase the profitability of the company. Workstreams included the design and implementation of big data solutions, reducing SG&A expenses, and improving customer experience.

Solution

Pepper Foster program managers established project management disciplines and cadence and led each workstream in line with PMI best practices. Project execution and communication plans were developed and adopted. Team member roles and expectations were established. Stakeholders were engaged and aligned with a cadence of recurring meetings and updates. Client project resources were coached, motivated and led. Recurring educational events shared program wins, positive customer impacts, and financial gains.

Outcome

All workstreams are on track and meeting targets. Team trust and accountability have been grounded and established. The executive team is updated regularly and repeatedly voiced support for the program’s successes to date.
