An old mentor of mine once told me that if I wanted to be considered a business genius I should always say a new idea is a bad idea because I’d be right 90% of the time. To really get ahead though, you need to be good at identifying and greenlighting the ideas that will make a difference. So how do you do that? How do you determine which ideas are actually good ideas? One quick and easy way is to ask three questions. Will this idea benefit people or companies? Are people ready for this idea? And can it be done? Ideas that are beneficial, timely, and feasible are good ideas. Everything else should be put on the back burner until you can answer yes to all three questions.

Right at the bottom of the NY Times Dealbook email that went out to subscribers on Saturday August 16 there was a small, almost throwaway piece about some surveys on AI adoption and ROI in business. The survey results show that AI is on the same trajectory as Dot Com was back in the late nineties.
