Business Outcomes

After finalizing the new strategy and roadmap, our client promptly initiated the implementation plan by taking the following actions:

  • Convened a summit for regional and headquarter teams to align on priorities, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Launched an outsourcing initiative to identify, validate, and monitor new and existing vendors, aimed at enhancing their profitability while maintaining high product quality.
  • Established dedicated projects aligned with the strategy for implementation within the Project Management Office.
  • Utilized the detailed process maps to provide comprehensive training for new employees, ensuring they have a thorough understanding of the innovation-to-production process.

Challenges – Problem Statement

Our client was facing significant scaling challenges to meet increasing customer demand for their premium horticultural products. Navigating through the international phytosanitary and regulatory issues was complex and constantly changing, especially country quarantines which could sometimes last several years. With commercial business all over the world, a one size fits all operational model was not possible.

Our client was seeking ideas and solutions for a global operations strategy that would help them efficiently capitalize on growth opportunities for the next 10-15 years. They specifically focused on how best to bring to market new product introductions as quickly as possible and how to transition from genetic development to large scale regional commercial production.

Solution Approach‍

Pepper Foster’s collaborative approach delivered the following:

  • Innovation to Commercialization Process Mapping: Outlined and specified the sequential steps, activities, and resources required to facilitate the innovation transition from its developmental phases to production. Additionally, visually represented the current and potential future states of the process configurations.
  • Gap Analysis: Conducted a thorough gap analysis to identify discrepancies between the current state and desired future state, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • StratX™ Framework: Crafted a strategy detailing practical steps to bridge identified gaps and streamline the transition from innovation development to production, with consideration for regional factors.

Pepper Foster’s StratX™ Framework is a rich and comprehensive proven set of methods, practices, templates, and tools that ensure a clear, executable strategic vision is developed and realized from strategy development through strategy planning and execution.

There is a critical paradox at the heart of the Gen AI revolution. While a select group of organizations are realizing immense value, a new MIT study, "The GenAI Divide: State of AI in Business 2025," finds that a staggering 95% of enterprise AI pilot programs are failing to deliver measurable financial returns. This apparent contradiction is not a flaw in the data but a fundamental insight into the current maturity of the market...
Right at the bottom of the NY Times Dealbook email that went out to subscribers on Saturday August 16 there was a small, almost throwaway piece about some surveys on AI adoption and ROI in business. The survey results show that AI is on the same trajectory as Dot Com was back in the late nineties.
